1. How old were you when you started playing soccer?

C. Canto : 17 years old.

2. How did you get involved with soccer?

C. Canto: School.

3. What positions have you played?

C. Canto: Forward, Central Defender and Goalkeeper.

4. Which position is your most favorite and least favorite? And why?

C. Canto: Favorite:  Central Defender – I like being able to see the whole field, anticipating play and reacting in time to hopefully start a counter attack.

5. How would you describe your experience on the national team?

C. Canto: Extremely fulfilling and some of the best experiences of my life.

6. What would you like to share with all the other female soccer athletes about playing soccer for the national team?

C. Canto: Always strive for more than you think you can.  Set your goals high and don’t be afraid to fail.  It’s better to try and fail than to never try at all.

7. What is the best part about training?

C. Canto: Water breaks (HA!) Forming bonds with your teammates through blood, sweat and tears.

8. What is the hardest part about training?

C. Canto: Fitness.

9. If you were to do it all over again, would you?

C. Canto: Yes.

10. What tips or secret ingredient would you give to others that desire to be on the national team?

C. Canto: Practice, practice, practice, practice.  Play as much soccer as you can.  Be prepared to give 100% (physically and mentally) to the sport.

11. If you were a spokesperson for Guam Football Association Women’s Football and you need to give a speech to inspire your fellow female athletes, what would you say to promote soccer?

C. Canto: Even though soccer is one of the hardest sports to play in terms of the mental, physical and commitments, the experiences are unforgettable and the lessons learned will be with you for the rest of your life.

12. What is your fondest memory of playing soccer?

C. Canto: Winning the silver medal at SPG.

13. What has been your biggest disappointment in football?

C. Canto: Not starting to play at an earlier age.

14. What is your favorite type of music?

C. Canto: Hip Hop & Alternative.

15. Favorite book?

C. Canto: Still Life with Woodpecker  by Tom Robbins

16. Your favorite film?

C. Canto: Memento

17. Your favorite city?

C. Canto: San Francisco, CA.

18. Favorite hobby?

C. Canto: Jigsaw Puzzle.

19.  Who has been the most influential figure to you?
C. Canto: My father

20. What is your main strength?

C. Canto: My intellect.

21. What qualities do you appreciate?

C. Canto: Honesty and a sense of humor.

22. What are you afraid of?

C. Canto: Blowing my knees out again.

23. Who would you most like to meet?

C. Canto: Roberto Carlo.

24. Where do you see yourself in 3 years in regards to soccer?

C. Canto: Goalkeeper for Guam National Team.

25. What are your goals/ambitions?

C. Canto:To live a happy and fulfilling life and doing my part to help the development of soccer on Guam.
