1. How old were you when you started playing soccer?
D. Weakley: 8 years old
2. How did you get involved with soccer?
D. Weakley: Parents.
3. What positions have you played?
D. Weakley: Growing up, I played everything.
4. Which position is your most favorite and least favorite? And why?
D. Weakley: I don’t really have a favorite position, but I prefer to be offense. My least favorite is goalie because I don’t know how.
5. How would you describe your experience on the national team?
D. Weakley: Challenging. But I wouldn’t trade my experience on the national team for anything.
6. What would you like to share with all the other female soccer athletes about playing soccer for the national team?
D. Weakley:It’s hard not to be intimidated but please try not to. I was intimidated my first time coming out which made me discouraged to stick with it. I ended up giving it another shot and love that I am on the team with no regrets.
7. What is the best part about training?
D. Weakley: Learning new things.
8. What is the hardest part about training?
D. Weakley: Physical training.
9. If you were to do it all over again, would you?
D. Weakley: Yes.
10. What tips or secret ingredient would you give to others that desire to be on the national team?
D. Weakley: Just Do It!
11. If you were a spokesperson for Guam Football Association Women’s Football and you need to give a speech to inspire your fellow female athletes, what would you say to promote soccer?
D. Weakley:Soccer is still a young sport on Guam and is growing rapidly. I encourage people from all ages to come out and try your best. You never know until you try it.
12. What is your fondest memory of playing soccer?
D. Weakley: Freshman year of high school. My team was down 1-0 with minutes left and I scored within the last 7 seconds to tie. If we tied, we remain third place in the league and if we lost we would’ve dropped in the ranks. It felt really good to help my team out, especially because I was only a freshman.
13. What has been your biggest disappointment in football?
D. Weakley: My sophomore year of high school. We finally made it to the championship and we lost. I felt our team could’ve done better.
14. What is your favorite type of music?
D. Weakley: Everything – you’d be surprised!

D. Weakley: Tears of a Tiger

D. Weakley: The Sandlot

D. Weakley: New York City

D. Weakley: Sleeping
19. Who has been the most influential figure to you?
D. Weakley: My mom.
20. What is your main strength?
D. Weakley: My personality.
21. What qualities do you appreciate?
D. Weakley: I appreciate my ability to learn fast and get along with people. Those two qualities are very important in a player as well as in life.
22. What are you afraid of?
D. Weakley: Life, death, rejection, spiders, snakes… etc.
23. Who would you most like to meet?
D. Weakley: My future husband, Cristiano Ronaldo and the cast of One Tree Hill.
24. Where do you see yourself in 3 years in regards to soccer?
D. Weakley: Playing soccer (still) and probably coaching. I want to give back.

D. Weakley: To be successful and make my parents and myself proud! |
