1. How old were you when you started playing soccer?
S. Willter: I was eight years old when I started playing soccer.
2. How did you get involved with soccer?
S. Willter: I got involved with soccer through friends.
3. What positions have you played?
S. Willter: I have played every position for at least one season.
4. Which position is your most favorite and least favorite? And why?
S. Willter: Right midfield is both my least and most favorite position. Its my least favorite because it requires LOTS of running and endurance. I would think more than any other position. It’s my most favorite because I enjoy crossing and I love assisting, especially when the goal is a header. Another reason is because I don’t feel as much pressure as a striker or a defender.
5. How would you describe your experience on the national team?
S. Willter: My experience on the national team is considered to be an earned privilege that is the beginning of the opening to greater and more opportunities. It’s an experience that shouldn’t b e taken for granted.
6. What would you like to share with all the other female soccer athletes about playing soccer for the national team?
S. Willter: I would like to tell other female soccer athletes that it’s not at all easy, and it’s not all about skill either.
7. What is the best part about training?
S. Willter: The best part about training is knowing that you have really nothing to lose, but so much more to learn and gain from it.
8. What is the hardest part about training?
S. Willter: The hardest part about training is having to push yourself when you are mentally and physically drained without any encouragement.
9. If you were to do it all over again, would you?
S. Willter: If I could do everything over again, I would. I would go back and make up for every single time I’ve slacked off during a practice, and I would take things much more seriously.
10. What tips or secret ingredient would you give to others that desire to be on the national team?
S. Willter: I would tell them to never stop trying and to keep trying to prove you deserve a slot on the team. But most of all, I would tell them to show commitment.
11. If you were a spokesperson for Guam Football Association Women’s Football and you need to give a speech to inspire your fellow female athletes, what would you say to promote soccer?
S. Willter: In order to promote women’s soccer I would first explain that women can be just as successful as men in soccer. It has many benefits that come with great experiences, but also requires dedication and hard work. In the end you wouldn’t have any regrets toward joining!
12. What is your fondest memory of playing soccer?
S. Willter:My fondest memory of soccer was assisting two of Joi’s goals that were headers off of y crosses in the U19 national tournament against Hong Kong (2006).
13. What has been your biggest disappointment in football?
S. Willter: My biggest disappointment in soccer is losing or tying to a team you know you could’ve beat, but you didn’t because they wanted it more.
14. What is your favorite type of music?
S. Willter: Acoustic, Alternative.
15. Favorite book?
S. Willter: None in particular
16. Your favorite film?
S. Willter: Pirates of the Carribean
17. Your favorite city?
S. Willter: Northshore, Hawaii
18. Favorite hobby?
S. Willter: Playing video games.
19. Who has been the most influential figure to you?
S. Willter: As of right now, Amy Atkinson has a had a big influence on me because she’s smart, talented, and just an all around good person. But most of all, she’s shown and proven to me and others, that being on the Guam national team really can take you places. She makes me want to be a more successful person.
20. What is your main strength?
S. Willter: I think my main strength is being able to make people laugh.
21. What qualities do you appreciate?
S. Willter: I appreciate having the ability to make people laugh. I think I’m pretty trustworthy and honest and I am also good at giving people advice when they need help or encouragement.
22. What are you afraid of?
S. Willter: I’m afraid of bugs, especially cockroaches.
23. Who would you most like to meet?
S. Willter: I would want to meet God, but I would also like to meet Will Smith or Tyra Banks.
24. Where do you see yourself in 3 years in regards to soccer?
S. Willter: In three years, I can see myself starting to play soccer in college.
25. What are your goals/ambitions?
S. Willter: My goals are to be successful while still playing soccer in college and even after.
