PRESS RELEASE FOR GFA – MARIANAS CUP

The Guam Football Association will be hosting the first inaugural Marianas Cup event on April 1st at 3PM at the GFA Harmon Field.

This year’s event is comprised of Guam Women’s National Team and Saipan National Team.  The match will commence at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 1st at the GFA Harmon Field. 

The Women’s National Team has been training since January of this year in preparation for the tournament that will be hosted here on Guam in July.  This is the first time that the Guam Football Association will host an EAFF event for Women’s.  Guam Women’s National Team will be challenging Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and Korea Republic during this competition.

The current Women’s National Team consists of 25 players training for the final 18 player roster.  Majority of these players consist of the most recent U19 National Team and the remainders are experienced women national players.  Majority of these players have been training under Head Coach Sang Hoon Kim and Asst Coach Cheri Stewart since January 2006.
